📅 On 2–4 December, the State Forensic Science Bureau welcomed forensic experts in document examination and fingerprint examination from the Main Forensic Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for a study visit.

👥 The delegation included Olena Bachuk, Chief of the Main Forensic Centre of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, as well as Colleen Ryan and Anastasiia Yakovenko, representatives of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

🔬 Throughout the visit, Ukrainian document examination experts were introduced to a range of forensic methods and technologies, including:

• liquid chromatography
 • Raman spectroscopy
 • video spectral comparison
 • infrared spectroscopy
 • scanning electron microscopy
 • comprehensive and non-destructive paper analysis and document age determination.

🆔 Fingerprint examination experts explored dactyloscopic visualisation and identification techniques, including the visualisation and photography of papillary ridge impressions, fingerprinting procedures, and comparative analysis.

🌍 This study visit was organised and funded in cooperation with the OSCE.

🤲 The initiative is part of the ongoing support provided by the State Forensic Science Bureau to Ukrainian forensic experts.
