On 15 – 19 April 2024 forensic experts from the Norwegian State Criminal Investigation Service KRIPOS visited the State Forensic Science Bureau. During the visit, experts from the State Forensic Science Bureau and KRIPOS worked on the introduction of new examination procedures in the field of paint and polymer materials examination and continued the work on the development of a database for the examination of ballpoint pen inks.
The visit was held within the framework of the European Economic Area Grants 2014–2021 programme "International Police Cooperation and Combating Crime".
The total funding for the project "Strengthening of the capacity of forensic system and inspection of the site of the event" is estimated at 2 680 000 EUR, of which the EEA Grants funding of 85% is 2 278 000 EUR and the national co-financing of 15% is 402 000 euro, complemented by a grant of 171 000 EUR from Fund for bilateral relations under the Norway Grants Programme. The project is to be implemented until April 30 2024.
