On 9 and 10 September 2026, a meeting of document experts from the Baltic Sea countries was held as part of the Baltic Sea Region Border Control Cooperation (BSRBCC). The meeting was attended by Vitālijs Freidenfelds, Director of the Document Investigation Department, who provided participants with an overview of the current state of counterfeit document examination at the State Forensic Science Bureau (SFSB).
The event was organised by the Latvian State Border Guard.
BSRBCC is a flexible regional network established in 1997 to combat cross-border crime and protect the maritime environment through daily inter-agency cooperation.
