The first workshop within the framework of the project “Operational capacity building of forensic examination of tobacco and other plant-based substances” was held at the Forensic Science Bureau of Latvia from 12 till 15 October 2021. SFSB forensic experts worked closely together with the lecturers from University of Zurich and Germany’s Forensic Science Institute of Federal Criminal Police Office in order to learn best experience in the field of plant DNA examination.
The project is funded by the European Union’s Hercule III programme. The main goal of the project is to strengthen SFSB technological capacity to provide high-quality forensic evidence in the field of tobacco examination and examination of other plant-based substances.
